Year R children have been learning all about good oral hygiene and the importance of keeping your teeth clean. As well as finding out lots of new words, with the help of Ali the alligator they learnt some important toothbrushing rules.
The class have had their photos taken twice this week. We started the week with swashbuckling fun on our pirate adventure day and posed for our class photos the next.
Here are some photos from Year R this week including addition, treasure maps, making a pirate ship and fun with Year 1.
There has been an invisible visitor in Year R this week, Evil Pea has been causing all sorts of trouble in class! Each day he has left us a new story all about his adventures with Supertato ...and caused mischief along the way. He hid Fred Frog in the fridge, made a big mess in the playground, froze and covered our toys in slime and wrapped them in toilet paper! We have been busy making traps, writing signs and reading clues all about this cheeky pea. Luckily, by the end of the week, our efforts were rewarded with him writing a message to us saying he had changed his ways. What a busy and exciting week! We travelled to the Northcott Theatre in Exeter to watch Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World. We have been finding out about the lives of some real life female superheroes, many of which featured in the show. We all enjoyed the costumes, singing, dancing, story telling, live music and also riding on the coach. Children were wonderfully behaved and joined in with the whole experience. You can view the trailer here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvT7gTgTPf4 The creation station has been busy this week. Children have been planning, fastening, cutting and attaching various items to make their own models. There were several vehicles, many with a Superhero theme. We have also continued our Superhero adventures in other areas of learning, such as making potions and comics, untangling superheroes and lots of dressing up. We ended the week by hearing the story 'The Dot' and thinking about how we are resilient. Children then drew their own dot and explored how they could make into their own artwork, just like the character in the story. During our PE sessions with Mr Berry this half term we are learning skills used to play cricket.
Here we are in our first session this week. |
